How to read the cards

Every pharmacy here has told us it continues prescribing for maintenance below the standard entry BMI, has passed our manual GPhC check, and stocks Foundayo. Joining BMI is the lowest BMI it accepts as a new patient. Maintenance BMI is the lowest BMI it will continue you at. Switching BMI is the lowest BMI it accepts when you move from another provider with evidence. Prices are live from the Dayo price data and include delivery. The cards load in a random order on each visit so no pharmacy is favoured; use the sort chips to order them by maintenance BMI, cheapest with discount, cheapest retail, Trustpilot or A to Z. A low BMI threshold is not a reason to pick a pharmacy on its own: the prescriber still decides whether continuing is safe for you, so confirm the policy with the pharmacy before you order.

Trust, methodology and fair display

How we vet: we independently verify GPhC registration and certificates manually, then confirm ongoing prescribing policies directly with clinical teams. Providers we cannot reach, or whose policy we cannot confirm, are excluded rather than guessed at.

Why maintenance pharmacies are a separate problem

Foundayo's UK licence covers adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or 27 to 30 with a weight-related condition.1 Those thresholds are written for starting treatment. The awkward consequence is that successful treatment moves you out of them: lose enough weight and you may fall below the BMI at which your provider is willing to keep prescribing.

That is not a loophole, it is a genuine clinical judgement call, and providers differ in how they handle it. Some will continue at a reduced dose with monitoring, some will taper you off, and some stop at a fixed threshold. Since stopping GLP-1 treatment without a plan is typically followed by substantial regain, knowing your provider's policy before you reach goal weight matters more than most people realise.

What to ask before you need the answer

  • What is your lowest maintenance BMI? The number at which they will stop prescribing.
  • Do you support dose tapering? Finding the lowest effective dose is both cheaper and often clinically preferable.
  • Is there a time limit? Some providers cap total treatment duration regardless of BMI.
  • What monitoring is included? Long-term treatment should involve real reviews, not an automated repeat.
  • What happens if I want to stop? Cancellation terms and tapering support vary widely.

Maintenance options a provider may offer

  • Continue at the same dose where clinically appropriate.
  • Reduce to a lower maintenance dose on the six-step ladder.
  • Taper gradually and stop, with monitoring afterwards.
  • Stop and monitor weight without medication.

Be wary of "no BMI limit" marketing

A provider willing to prescribe a weight-management medicine at any BMI, with no clinical rationale, is not being generous: they are being careless, and possibly unlawful. Foundayo is prescription only and must be prescribed against a genuine clinical assessment.1 Low maintenance thresholds should always come with monitoring and a documented rationale.
